Oxford Business Group (OBG) and Thailand’s Board of Investment (BOI) officially launched its new publication “The Report: Thailand 2009”on 29 June 2009 at Royal Thai Government House, in the presence of H.E. Abhisit Vejjajiva, Prime Minister of Kingdom of Thailand.

The report provides a sector-by-sector business guide to Thailand for traders and investors alike and is the most comprehensive report on the country's investment and business opportunities ever published, according to OBG, a global publishing, research and consultancy firm. The keynote address for the official launch was given by H.E. Abhisit Vejjajiva, Prime Minister of Kingdom of Thailand. H.E. Chanchai Chairungruang, Minister of Industry, also addressed the launch.
Prime Minister Abhisit said, "We do look forward to the Thai economy turning around and hope that there will be positive growth in the last quarter of this year, followed by growth firmly back next year, both for Thailand and the region."
The Prime Minister stated that the report conveyed a key message, that is, as global and regional economies recover, Thailand will once again stand to gain market share in sectors such as manufacturing of high value-added goods, agribusiness, transport and tourism. He ended his speech by highlighting the necessity to diversify the Thai economy and attract new investments.
